Assistant General Manager – Merchandising and Procurement (Lingerie & Swimwear)

Major roles:

  • Lead the Merchandising and Procurement departments as part of monitoring the critical path from product development to goods delivery;
  • Station in Guangdong province for 4 days per week and in Hong Kong for 1 day per week;
  • Manage customer relationships and changing needs in an effective manner;
  • Set sourcing strategies for China, Vietnam, and Cambodia as part of product development;
  • Negotiate and achieve best pricing and terms by devising and executing sourcing and account strategies; 
  • Manage and continuously improve procurement processes, and provide direction on assessing and monitoring supplier capabilities in the areas of fabric and trims;
  • Grow customer accounts by providing insights and directions on business model based on the company’s strengths and dynamic global market situation.
  • Set up sales and sourcing strategies and targets for different sales regions / customers / suppliers and to strive for meeting / exceeding the related KPIs;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder or above in Fashion / Textiles / Clothing or related disciplines, with at least 10 years’ experience at managerial level in the apparel industry, preferably in the lingerie segment;
  • A mature leader, independent, pro-active, well-organised, creative, and result-oriented;
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, problems solving, and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in product development, sourcing, and production processes, preferably in the lingerie / swimwear areas, and European / North American experience & exposure, a definite asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Proficient in computer applications, such as MS Office / ERP system
  • Candidate with less experience may be considered as Merchandising and Purchasing Managers
