QA Engineer – Building Materials / Mechanical Product

Duties:

• Mechanical/Structural is responsible for performing packaging material and artwork review, document verification including test reports and certificates validation for mechanical and structural products
• Conduct on-site testing and product inspections covering mechanical products, structural assemblies
• Perform FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for new products and process improvements to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive measures
• Use AutoCAD for mechanical simulation, structural analysis, and design verification
• Strong troubleshooting skills and manufacturing know-how in mechanical design, material properties, and structural integrity are preferred. Responsible for shipment release approval
• Work closely with 3rd party laboratories & suppliers for seamless testing and inspection services.

Education & experience

• Bachelor degree or equivalent discipline in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, with demonstrated ability to perform simulation, structural analysis, and design verification.
• Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical or similar CAD analysis tools for stress analysis, load simulation, and tolerance studies.
• Experience with FMEA methodology (Design FMEA and Process FMEA) and risk assessment tools is required.
• Experience with mechanical products, structural assemblies, garden tools, hand tools, furniture, or related hardware strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing methods, material properties, structural analysis, and mechanical safety standards.
• Proven track record of conducting FMEA workshops and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
• Good communication skills both in English and Mandarin.
• Business travel in SE Asia & Greater China region is required.
• 5+ years QA experience is preferred, with experience in mechanical products or structural components highly valued.
• General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and 3D) for technical drawing review, simulation, and analysis is required.
• Familiarity with other CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) is a plus.
• Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001) is preferred.
• Good analytical mind with a can-do attitude. Independent and good problem-solving skills & sound manufacturing knowhow for mechanical products are preferred.

• Team player with excellent communication & presentation skills in English and Chinese.
• Can-do attitude and independent. Good problem-solving skills & sound manufacturing and product knowhow for European market are preferred, particularly for mechanical and structural products.
• Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills for FMEA analysis, risk assessment, and CAD-based simulation.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and perform dimensional analysis using AutoCAD.
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional workshops and drive consensus on risk mitigation priorities.
• A good understanding of quality testing and material testing is required. Understanding of load testing, fatigue testing, dimensional measurement, and structural integrity assessment is a plus.
• Familiarity with mechanical safety standards (e.g., EN standards for building materials) and structural testing requirements.
• Using data to drive sourcing decisions.
• Project Management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively and handle challenges and tight deadlines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with other departments (e.g., category, logistics). Communicate location-independently with a team in multiple countries and locations.
• Excellent IT & computer skills (Windows or macOS): Work in a modern work environment and able to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of Product compliance, sustainability standards, European Environmental Regulations, and mechanical safety requirements.
